The Engineer
Four decades building infrastructure — from airports to federal highways and national housing.
Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi is among the most accomplished, multidimensional public servants in the Arab world. Over more than four decades he has shaped the UAE's built landscape and defined its environmental and climate policy as a federal minister.
Educated at the University of Wisconsin–Madison (BSc, 1980) and the University of Reading, UK (PhD, 1990), he rose from public-sector engineer to twice-serving federal minister.
Today he continues as Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council, a university professor, Chancellor of the Emirates Scholar Center, and an author and poet carrying the nation's message to the world.
