Afaq Fi Buhur Al Qawafi
About this book
*Afaq Fi Buhur Al Qawafi* by Dr. Abdulla Belhaif Al Nuaimi is a poetic and intellectual journey that moves across wide horizons of creativity, emotion, and reflection, where classical Arabic poetic heritage meets a contemporary literary spirit that speaks to humanity, الوطن، المعرفة، والحياة. Through diverse poetic styles and rhythms inspired by the traditional Arabic poetic meters, the diwan transforms poetry into an expansive artistic space that expresses identity, culture, emotion, and human experience.
The collection is built upon a literary vision that sees poetry as a bridge between civilizations and cultures. The author draws inspiration from the symbolism of the sea as an extension of Gulf and Arab memory — a source of inspiration, openness, resilience, and human connection. Through this perspective, poetic rhythms and emotional imagery intertwine to create texts that explore الوطن، الإنسان، الطبيعة، القيادة، والتاريخ within a deeply expressive artistic framework.
The diwan is structured around three major poetic themes, each carrying its own creative identity and emotional voice. In *Saheel Al Majd*, the patriotic poems celebrate the United Arab Emirates, its leadership, achievements, and values of loyalty and national pride. *Bouh Al Samt* moves into a quieter and more contemplative space, where poetry becomes an intimate reflection on human existence, wisdom, and inner emotion. Meanwhile, *Thakirat Al Ubour* opens the window to journeys, cities, memories, and transformations, documenting the emotional and spiritual movement of people, places, and time through a rich poetic lens.
One of the defining strengths of *Afaq Fi Buhur Al Qawafi* is its artistic richness and diversity of poetic meters. The author moves fluidly between classical rhythms and modern poetic experiences while preserving the elegance and authenticity of Arabic language and expression. The collection also carries clear patriotic, cultural, and humanitarian dimensions reflected in poems about the UAE, Gulf identity, knowledge, development, peace, and human values, alongside deeply emotional poems about love, hope, contemplation, and life experiences.
More than a poetry collection, *Afaq Fi Buhur Al Qawafi* stands as a literary and cultural project that celebrates the beauty of the Arabic language and its ability to embrace both intellect and emotion. Readers will discover within its pages a rich literary experience that combines poetic musicality, imagination, emotional sincerity, and meaningful reflection, making this diwan a valuable work for lovers of authentic Arabic poetry and contemporary Emirati literature.
